Course Description
This course briefly reviews the Census Bureau’s mission and throughly examines the development of the nation’s statistical and geographic "architecture"—the basis of almost all general purpose data used in government, academia, and business. The course describes Census Bureau programs that focus on topics and result in distinct products. The course covers basic Census Bureau geography and the Census-taking concepts and rules that define how society and the business world are defined. A brief reference to demography links the census to population projections.
