The American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)* is the American Planning Association's professional institute which certifies planners. To become a certified planner, APA members must pass a written exam offered twice each year in May and November.
Planetizen offers a convenient, self-paced, online preparation class with over 12 hours of video to help you successfully prepare for the AICP* exam. This class provides step-by-step, interactive instruction that leads you through specific methodologies, lessons, exercises and hundreds of sample questions.
Due to the unique format, depth of content, and specific needs of those taking the AICP* exam, the AICP* Exam Preparation Class is available as a separate stand-alone class from the Planetizen Store.
*AICP is a registered trademark of the American Planning Association (APA) and the APA's Institute. Neither APA nor AICP are affiliated with Planetizen or this class.
In order to maintain certification, AICP members must earn a total of 32 certification maintenance (CM) credits (1 contact hour = 1 CM credit) within their two-year reporting period. Planetizen courses provides an easy way for AICP certified planners to earn CM credits.
A minimum of 1.5 CM credits must include the topic of ethics, and another 1.5 credits must be on the topic of current planning law. Planetizen offers a number of courses that qualify for both law and ethics Credits.
Planetizen Courses regularly rotates courses available for AICP credits to keep certification maintenance fun and refreshing.
