Course Description
The future is digital, and data is the new oil. Planning for new and disruptive transportation is essential to how we reshape the city of the future. This course will cover emerging forms of digital transportation, with a specific focus on smart, connected, and autonomous vehicles. That includes: a primer on how the technology works; the impacts of the technology on travel behavior, land use, and economics; the social impacts of new vehicle technology; and planning strategies for autonomous vehicles. You will learn how to develop policy as well as plan and design for streets that can accommodate all modes, including autonomous vehicles.
