Transportation Planning

This track of eight courses covers the foundational theories and underlying knowledge of the transportation planning field. Course instructor Richard Willson, professor in the Department of Urban and Regional Planning at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, is an expert in parking policy, climate change planning, the relationships between land use and transportation, travel demand management, and transit-oriented development. This track covers the social and economic purpose of transportation planning, the impact of the global transportation system on the environment, and strategies for modeling travel behavior. Concluding courses discuss the making of transportation plans and opportunities for smart cities within the design and planning fields. Each course in this track is approved for CNU-A and AICP CM credit.
