Eliot Allen

Eliot Allen, LEED AP-ND, is an urban planner and Principal with Criterion Planners of Portland Oregon specializing in community sustainability assessment. Eliot has 12 years of experience as a technical consultant and certification reviewer for the LEED ND and EcoDistricts Protocol programs, and technical standards adviser for the Sustainable SITES and STAR Community rating systems. He is also the LEED ND expert at LEEDuser.com, and an education provider for the U.S. Green Building Council, Planetizen, and the American Institute of Certified Planners.

Eliot is a co-recipient of EPA’s Climate Protection Award for the Chula Vista California Climate Protection Plan; the Congress for the New Urbanism Charter Award for the Smart Code; and the APA Sustainable Communities Division Award of Excellence for the Imagine Austin Comprehensive Plan. He is a former chair of Portland’s Energy Commission, and currently serves on the national APA advisory group for the Sustaining Places Comprehensive Plan Standards update.
