Carol D. Barrett

Carol D. Barrett, FAICP, has been active in practical planning ethics since being directed to do something illegal on the job, almost thirty years ago. Ms. Barrett, is a highly acclaimed expert in planning ethics. Her book Everyday Ethics for Practicing Planners is widely regarded as the definitive work on planning ethics. She served on the 1978 Committee, chaired by Jerry Kaufman, which drafted the AICP Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct. She is a past member of the AICP Ethics Committee, the Joint APA/AICP Ethics Awareness Committee, and former president of the American Planning Association's Texas Chapter.
