Ben Schulman

Ben Schulman is the communications director of the Chicago chapter of The American Institute of Architects, editor of Chicago Architect magazine and a writer on urban affairs. Previously, Schulman served as the communications director for the Congress for the New Urbanism (CNU).

Schulman’s work has been noted by The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pop City Media, The Atlantic Online, National Review, The New York Times, and has been featured in outlets such as Belt Magazine, Better Cities and Towns, Chicago Architect, Engaging Cities, Gapers Block, New City, New Geography, Streetsblog, Sustainable Cities Collective, The Urbanophile, New York Daily News (ghost writer), Atlantic Cities (ghost writer), and others.

When not writing about cities, Schulman serves as an editorial assistant for Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media, and helps head the Contraphonic Sound Series, an attempt to document cities through sound.
