We may remove or edit inappropriate content or activity identified by or reported to us. We may separately suspend, disable, or terminate a user's access to all or part of the Services for violations of this policy.

1. Prohibited Content

You are prohibited from using Planetizen Courses to share, post, or transmit content that:

Contains illegal content or promotes illegal activities. Do not share content that violates any applicable laws or regulations, or encourages others to engage in illegal conduct.
Contains credible threats or organizes acts of real-world violence. We do not allow content that creates a genuine risk of physical injury or property damage, credibly threatens people or public safety, or organizes or encourages harm.
Harasses others. We encourage professional discourse and commentary on urban planning topics and matters of public interest, but abusive, threatening, or otherwise inappropriate content directed at individuals is not allowed. This includes personal attacks, insults, or targeted harassment.
Violates intellectual property, privacy, or other rights. Do not share content that you do not have the right to share, claim content that you did not create as your own (including content generated by AI), or otherwise infringe or misappropriate someone else's intellectual property or other rights. Always attribute materials used or quoted by you to the original copyright owner.
Contains spam or unauthorized solicitations. Do not share irrelevant or inappropriate advertising, promotional materials, or solicitation content. Do not use the Services to advertise your business, products, or services unless expressly permitted in designated areas.
Is obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit. Planetizen Courses is a professional educational platform and such content is not appropriate.
Is discriminatory, hateful, or promotes bigotry. Content that is discriminatory based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other protected characteristics is prohibited.
Otherwise violates the Planetizen Courses Terms of Service.

2. Prohibited Activities

You are not allowed to:

Violate applicable laws or regulations. Do not use the Services in any way that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law, or breaches any of your contractual obligations or fiduciary duties.
Share your account or credentials. Do not share your password, let anyone besides yourself access your account, or do anything that might put your account at risk. Each subscription is for individual use only.
Access other users' accounts. Do not attempt to access, use, or interfere with any other user's account.
Misuse course content. Do not reproduce, transfer, sell, resell, or otherwise misuse any content from the Services unless specifically authorized to do so. Course materials are for your personal educational use only.
Record or redistribute course content. Do not record, download (except where explicitly permitted), screenshot, or otherwise capture course videos, materials, or content for redistribution or sharing with others.
Access non-public areas. Do not access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of our systems, unless specifically authorized to do so.
Compromise security. Do not break or circumvent our authentication or security measures, test the vulnerability of our systems or networks, or attempt any unauthorized penetration testing.
Reverse engineer the platform. Do not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any portion of the Services or underlying software.
Interfere with the Services. Do not interfere with any user, host, or network, for example by sending a virus, overloading, spamming, or mail-bombing. Do not use the Services to distribute malware or other harmful code.
Use the Services for non-educational purposes. Do not use the Services or any functionality of the platform for anything other than completing online courses and professional development. Do not use the platform for commercial purposes, data collection, or other non-educational activities.
Impersonate others. Do not impersonate or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity, including claiming credentials, professional licenses, or affiliations you do not possess.
Frame or mirror the Services. Do not "frame" or "mirror" any part of the Services or create any derivative presentation of the platform.
Cheat or engage in academic dishonesty. Do not share answers to quizzes or assessments, collaborate on individual assignments unless expressly permitted, purchase or sell course materials or certificates, or engage in any other form of academic dishonesty.
Encourage or help others violate this policy. Do not assist, encourage, or facilitate anyone else in violating this Acceptable Use Policy.

You understand that by using the Services, you may be exposed to content in forums, discussions, or user comments that may offend you or challenge your beliefs. Your remedy is to avoid such content by not participating in those discussions or by discontinuing your use of the Services.

3. Restrictions Requiring Prior Written Consent

Without prior written consent from Planetizen, you are not allowed to:

Scrape or extract data. Do not visit or use the Services for any form of content, data, or text scraping (including but not limited to screen scraping, web harvesting, or web data extracting) through manual, mechanical, or automated means including by the use of bots or other similar software.
Use content for AI training or data mining. Do not use any content, data, or text in any form from the Services for text or data mining purposes, or develop or train any application, software, code, or data models including but not limited to generative artificial intelligence or other artificial intelligence and machine learning models, whether for commercial or non-commercial purposes.
Use content for commercial purposes. Do not reproduce, distribute, display, or create derivative works from course content for commercial purposes, including but not limited to creating competing courses, training materials, or educational products.

4. Professional Conduct

As Planetizen Courses serves urban planning and related professionals, we expect all users to maintain professional standards of conduct. This includes:

Engaging respectfully with instructors and fellow learners in discussion forums and other interactive features;
Providing constructive feedback and criticism rather than personal attacks;
Respecting diverse viewpoints and perspectives on planning issues and policies;
Conducting yourself in a manner that reflects positively on the urban planning profession.

5. Reporting Violations

If you encounter content or behavior that violates this Acceptable Use Policy, please report it to us at [email protected]. Please provide as much detail as possible, including links to the content in question and a description of the violation.

We take all reports seriously and will investigate and respond appropriately. Please note that we may not be able to provide details about actions taken in response to specific reports due to privacy considerations.

6. Enforcement

Violations of this Acceptable Use Policy may result in:

Removal or editing of violating content;
Warning or notification to the user;
Temporary suspension of account access;
Permanent termination of account and access to the Services;
Reporting to law enforcement or other authorities where appropriate;
Legal action to enforce our rights or recover damages.

The specific action taken will depend on the nature and severity of the violation, as determined by Planetizen in its sole discretion. We reserve the right to take any action we deem appropriate, including actions not listed above.

Repeated or serious violations may result in immediate account termination without warning.
