How do Planetizen Courses work?

Planetizen's video courses are designed so you can access them at your own pace and from wherever you are. Our entire course library is accessible from one sign up, and you are welcome to jump around and watch only the videos that are of interest to you. Each course is divided into chapters of roughly 5 minutes in length and are dedicated to learning a specific task or topic. You are free to go back and review as much as you like.

About how long does it take to complete a Planetizen Course?

This depends on the course and the learner. However, most courses are broken into lessons/tasks of about 5 minutes a piece, and courses range in length from 1/2 hour to a full hour.

Can more than one person take the course for the same price (within the same firm)?

No. The course fee includes a license for one learner (person) to access the course from multiple locations (home, work, travel, etc.), as often as desired for the entire duration of the enrolled session. It's not fair to the course instructor to allow multiple registrations under one license. The courses are priced affordably to hopefully make it possible for each learner to pay the course fee. The courses software system recognizes when multiple users are logged into the same account.

 

If not, could we get a group discount if there was enough interest?

 Yes! Our group plan is a great way to save on training for the entire office.

How do I log in? How can I change my password?

Click LOGIN in the upper-right corner of the page. You will be taken to a new page to enter your User Account information. If you haven't yet created an account, click PRICING AND SIGN UP in the upper-right corner. If you have signed up and received an email with your login information, enter the username and password on the User Account page.

 

If you'd like to edit your password, click the LOGIN link to go to the User Account page. Click the "Request New Password" button. It will ask for your username or email address. Enter either one, then click the "Email New Password" button.

How do I ask questions?

Email any questions regarding course content or technical issues to courses@planetizen.com. We'll get back to you within 24 hrs.

What are the system requirements to view the videos?

Videos are viewable in the majority of web browsers. If you are having trouble viewing the videos, check to see that you're using one of the browsers listed below. You may need to upgrade your Flash player if you are viewing on a PC or Mac desktop. HTML5 playback will begin automatically on iPads, iPhones, Android, and other mobile devices.

What are common solutions for technical problems?

If you are having trouble viewing the videos, please proceed to take the following steps.

First, let's make sure you can view videos. Please visit http://www.brightcove.com/en/customers/miami-dolphins and press the play button to confirm you can watch this sample video. If you cannot watch this video,  you should let your IT department know because this is most likely an issue with your organization's firewall settings.

Next, if you are able to watch the Brightcove sample video, please visit this page on Planetizen Courses and attempt to view this video: http://courses.planetizen.com/course/planning-ethics/0

If you are able to view these videos, please log in to your account and visit the course page you signed up for. Scroll down to Chapter 2 and select the title.

If you still do not see the video, please perform the following steps, (check back to see if the videos play before proceeding to the next step):

1. Refresh your browser.

2. Restart your browser.

3. Confirm you are using the most current version of your browser.

4. Switch browser applications.

5. Reboot your computer.

If you still do not see a video that you can begin playing, kindly take a screenshot (ALT PRINT SCREEN), and send us the screenshot at courses@planetizen.com so we can see what you are seeing.

How do I login to the AICP Exam Prep Course?

Planetizen offers a convenient, self-paced online preparation course with over 12 hours of video to help you successfully prepare for the exam. The course provides step-by-step, progressive, and interactive instruction that leads you through specific methodologies, lessons, exercises and hundreds of sample questions. 

Due to the unique format, depth of content, and specific needs of those taking the AICP exam, you will need to sign up for the Planetizen AICP Exam Preparation as a separate product.

Where can I find information on your subscription Fees, cancellation and refund policy?

I am interested in purchasing an online courses, but I need to pay with a purchase order or check (not a credit card).

No problem. Please contact us at courses@planetizen.com and specify the exact course (and options, if you are ordering the AICP preparation course), and your full contact information, including mailing address and your email address. We will email to you an invoice. We will activate your Planetizen courses account within one business day after we receive payment for the invoice.

Can I teach for Planetizen Courses?

Yes. We welcome experienced instructors and new course proposals.
